Brad Pilon of EatStopEat advocates fasting for 24 hrs at least one or two times a week to take a break from eating and to give digestion a rest from food. He also recommends strength training while being in a fasted state and that people will have better mental clarity, as well as energy while fasting. Not to mention having more time since there will be less time being in the kitchen. And after the 24 hour fast, to resume eating as if the fast never happened. I'd like to have your opinion on this.

I love this article. It's one of my favorite on here and helped to confirm many things I'd heard and been told over the years.

So I have to admit the silliness of sitting down in front of the PC with this specific article open, about to eat a meal about 3 times what I should, when I haven't eaten at all today yet.

Which brings me to a question. I both lifted and did cardio like mad last night. Is it actually helpful to eat much larger meals (well-rounded, of course) the day before and especially the day after a big workout?

WGD- This article didn't reference any weight loss programs... unless the act of skipping meals is considered a "program". It's simply referring to the popular belief that less food or less meals equals less fat.

These weight loss programs also might involve meeting with the counselors either once a week or once a month as per the schedule advised.
