pullup/chinup hang time

I just tested myself on this (because I wanted to prove I could beat a friend's record) – how long could I hold a chin-up position at the mid-point?  In other words, with arms at 90 degrees, how long could I hold?

After about 3 minutes I got bored so I then added 25 pounds.  I was able to hold that for 52 seconds.

Anybody wanna test and report what they can do?

I've not tried this yet Darrin, but I'm sure I'm much better at this than the concentric portion of the movement.  For some reason, I really burn out quick at chinups or pullups (and it feels like it's my delts that get burned out first, leaving my upper back wanting more).  The first set, I can do ten or eleven w/o weight (a couple more for chins than with pulls); the second set, only six if I'm lucky!  What is weird though is that it feels like I can pull up alot of weight on the first two or three reps, but, after that, I start losing strength quickly.

But I've noticed I'm very strong on the way down, so I tried something the other day. While doing pullups at shoulder width; when I got up to chin level at form failure, I removed my left hand and slowly let my self down with just my weak arm.

I don't think I can meet or beat your record, because I don't have that kind of isometric muscle endurance, especially where my shoulders are involved, but I'll give it a try on my next workout that involves chins.

I love your "one arm eccentric" idea – I will definitely try that…

The only problem I found with the one arm deal was that I'm not strong enough to hold myself straight up and down when I do this and I can't really stop my motion downward, so I kind of go towards one side of the chinup rack and start down, but it's the feeling of being able to somewhat slow and control myself with just one arm that's pretty cool.

I keep getting in to the middle of my back routine before I remember that I need to try at your record.  Today, I did chins with 15 lbs (which I wanted to attempt against your 25s), but I didn't remember till I had already done a drop set to my body weight.  By then, I was blasted.
