THere are a lot of them that claim they do it. The research is iffy though… It's one of those supplaments that isn't nessecary to take, but people usually try them anyways, just to find they waste their money… that or they get a placebo effect.

Unless you have been diagnosed with lower-than-normal hormonal levels, don't worry about testosterone boosters. The risk/reward profile just doesn't make sense.
The best things to boost testosterone is just good food and lifting. (For examples, studies show milk boosting testosterone.) If you really want to do something "extra" then start looking into nutrient timing: the concepts around how you time food and nutrients around your workout.

Just a side note: Darrin you heard anything on thje few studies showing milk as sucking calcium out of your body??? Last I heard, the theory is that milk likes Calcium so much itg actually pulls some of it out of your body. Maybe that was only fortified milk or something though… anyways just seein if u knew anything on it???

I've checked pubmed and 5 specific journals and found no articles on milk "sucking calcium" out of your body.
Interesting though, there seem to be several studies showing links to milk consumption and lower bodyfat. I haven't read those studies, so don't go assuming anything, but it looks interesting.

Ok I just read on the 6x6x6 routine and most def I will be getting this starting Feb to train for the Super Spartan in September ! I like it already. I have 3 questions …. 1. I can only work out Tuesday to Friday, 4 times per week with no rest in between ( my rest days are Saturday, Sunday and Monday ). I can only do that time due to work, school and family. Can you alter the 6x6x6 to theses days ?
2.Also what can you suggest for my wife as we work out together ? Can she do the same routine ?
3. Last question…I use supplements: Force-Factor and GNC Pro Performance® AMP Amplified Wheybolic Extreme 60. They have worked for me as far as pre work out supplements is concern and help me with mass, definition and energy. What would you recommend for recovery ? I’m a kidney donor so I only have one kidney. I would need something that is not too hard on my kidney. Any suggestions ?

About 95% of supplements are hype. (Wrote an article for Darrin on this a while back…click here…) While they may help, some of it is probably a placebo effect, and a nice chunk of it really isn't worth the money. Good nutrition will fix most of that. Typically, as long as your kidney is healthy I don't think PROPER supplementation would be an issue (double check with the doc.)
I personally wouldn't recommend the 6x6x6 routine for 4 days a week at a beginner's level. It's program is set-up that specific way for a reason, although D would make a better call on that than I would, since it's his program. At your level the Total Body workout done maybe Tues/Wed/Fri might be more beneficial. Then again, you can also use the argument that most people who work out MAKE time to work out, it's only an hour. In order to progress in a goal to new heights you have make some sacrifices in other areas. But, that call is up to you in the end.
A woman can (and should) do virtually the same exact workout as a man does. Amount of weight and intensity, to a certain extent, being an obvious difference. There was a REALLY good 4 part series Darrin wrote on this. I would provide you a link to this one as well, but I want you to search for it; might discover some new information for yourself on the site.

@Cameron – I love it when you beat me to a reply!
@gferrin – Cameron did a great job answering. Some additional comments:
- GNC's wheybolic extreme is essentially just good old whey protein, but overpriced; if you like the taste and can afford it, stick with it
- doing the 6x6x6 for 4 days straight is probably not a good idea; it's pretty intense in both central nervous system activation and volume and so you need recovery time; if you only have T, W, Th, and F and your goal is getting Spartan ready, then I'd do something like FullBodyAttack (or other full body lifting routine) like Cameron says but I'd do this:
– T – full body lift in the a.m.; then something cardio in the evening; for spartan I would do steady state runs increasing mileage each week 20% until you reach at least 80% of your spartan distance
– W – off
– Th – fun, metabolic work (I don't have a specific routine written up for this [but maybe I should? Hmmm...] but things like long jumps, pull ups, pushups, suicides, medicine ball work, etc. The idea is explosive movements with resistance, using short rest periods (like 30 seconds or so); follow it up with a short run (about half the distance you did on Tues)
– F – full body lift, really intense (you have many days to recover)
– if you are not training for a running event, or aren't trying to go for extra calorie burn or are looking purely to add muscle, then you can drop the steady state runs
